Mature shady trees and a swimming pool invite relaxation.

This country retreat is perfectly suited to avid bird watchers and anyone with a passion for nature, fresh air and open spaces. The garden list boasts over 100 bird species identified over the past 25 years. A wetland birding site is within easy walking distance from the property. Relaxation comes naturally to those who stay in this friendly environment.

The Cape Style cottage units all contain an en-suite bathroom with a choice of single or double beds. Each individually decorated cottage has personal touches with attention to detail including an honesty bar and private patio reflective of the country charm. The tranquility and privacy of your own garden cottage invites respite from any routine. You will be tempted to stay and stay and stay. There is secure parking behind a remote controlled gate. For those wanting greater independence there are three self-catering units, for two or three guests. Each unit has a fully-equipped kitchenette and all the trimmings of the garden suites. One of the cottages is also wheelchair friendly.

A cosy dining room welcomes guests for breakfast where they are treated to the finest and freshest fare including free-range eggs, home-baked breads and decadent fruity jams. A choice of farm style or continental breakfast is on offer. Delectable dinners may be requested- many a friendship has been forged around the Afton Grove table or in the adjoining lounge with open fireplace.
Afton Grove is perfectly located for exploring the Cape Point Route – an area of wide open spaces, magnificent scenery, pristine white sandy beaches, rocky coves and soaring mountains.

The natural assets provide a backdrop for activities from scenic hikes to water sports. Popular swimming beaches and picnic areas, which are a treat for families, abound. The Spengler family will assist with any arrangements to help you discover the hidden gems of the area. Afton Grove was wonderful!!!!!! Both Chris and Leslie were delightful and their entire staff made us feel like we were right at home. We even got flowers when we went away for a day to a game reserve. It was just delightful and when we come back to Durban in April of 2008 we are hoping to have time to stop back in to CapeTown and stay with them. They were wonderful hosts and have a lovely home.
