Description

Need a break to escape your daily routine? Come and visit Esperanca do Mar or "Home at Sea" for a relaxing holiday. We are situated at Macaneta, 30 km north of Maputo in Mozambique. Come and experience the unspoilt and uncrowded beach that stretches for 80 km to Bilene in the north. We are located amongst pristine tranquil bush surroundings, ideal for bird-watchers and those needing to recharge in peaceful surroundings. There is also excellent deep-sea fishing for those fishermen looking to hook and hopefully land the big one.

Our shaded camp sites are only 300 m from the beach and offer power points, lighting, barbecue areas, and ablution facilities with hot water. Safari chalets consist of two rooms sleeping four to six persons, with a bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, and own barbecue area.

If you are a boat owner, we can launch your boat with a tractor, but we also have skilled/licensed personnel to charter those not owning their own boat. Day trips to the beautiful Inhaca and Portuguese Islands can also be arranged for an even more memorable holiday. Those with their own boats can take day trips to the islands for a lovely picnic, excellent seafood, scuba diving, snorkelling, or to simply walk around and enjoy what the islands have to offer. Boats, quads, and jet skis are all welcome at Esperanca do Mar.

There is also a choice of three restaurants nearby serving excellent seafood which is a must during your stay, or take a trip to Maputo and enjoy the vibrant city life and ample restaurants to choose from there.

This safari tent is situated on a dune overlooking the ocean and is a little secluded from the rest of the camp. It features two bedrooms, sleeping four adults, a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and a lovely shaded barbecue area. It also offers an upper deck with stunning views of the ocean to the front, and of the Mozambique bush to the back.

Our family experience was that the warm heartedness and family atmosphere at Esperanca do Mar was one of the best holidays we have ever experienced. As seasoned holidaymakers to different destinations every year, I told all my friends what an awesome holiday we had. Die mense van Esperanca het gesorg vir 'n vakansie wat ons nooit sal vergeet nie. Netjiese kampplekke, skoon en netjiese abblusie, en belangrikste van als, gasvry en behulpsaam! Dankie Basie, Elize en kids! Ons sal beslis weer kom. The people from Esperanca ensured we had a vacation never to be forgot. Neat campsites, clean and neat ablutions, and most importantly, helpful and hospitable! Thank you Basie, Elize and kids! We will surely return.

Really enjoyed our stay at Esperanca do Mar! We were greeted warmly, and even got a local welcoming drink, rum and Sparberry, before we set up camp. The serene beach is a short walk from camp, where we stayed most of the morning. After the walk back, we cooled off for the rest of the day in the swimming pool. The owners provided 24-hour ice. The bathrooms were always neat! I have recommended it to everyone already and will definitely visit again!

Dit was great om by Esperanca tuis te gaan. Die chalets was gemaklik en die mense baie gasvry en behulpsaam. Daar is net 'n groot probleem met die ferry, om ses ure in die son te staan met kleinkindertjies om te wag vir ferry is nie grappies nie. Al die mense wat saam met ons was sê dit is die laaste keer dat hulle Macaneta toe gaan as hulle 'n ferry moet gebruik. It was great holidaying at Esperanca. Nice clean campsites. Nice pub area and swimming pool, and only a very short walk to the beach. Great hospitality and service from the owner. Nothing was too much trouble for him to arrange.
