Description

Ponta Torres - Nhonguane Lodge is located only 3 km from the Santa Maria village along the esteemed Machangulo Peninsula. The lodge is situated along the beach of the Maputo Bay, only a kilometre from the channel separating the Machangulo Peninsula from Inhaca Island.

The accommodation consists of six beautiful self-catering houses. Each house has a fully equipped kitchen and is serviced daily to ensure a peaceful vacation for individuals, groups or the whole family. Meals can also be provided on request.

For the more adventurous, there is the safari tented camp that offers a very comfortable alternative for the nature lover. The camp consists of three Safari Tents sleeping four people in each. All tents have fans, en-suite bathrooms and mosquito nets for every bed. The camp has a large thatched entertainment area with a kitchen, a bar counter and a dining area, as well as a social braai area under the shady marula trees.

Facing west, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets over the bay while enjoying a sundowner at the lodge’s Beach Bar. There are also many aquatic activities and the area has a beautiful coastal forest and mangrove swamps to explore. Guests could also choose to enjoy a 600 m walk along the beach to the notorious Hell’s Gate.

Beach: The location of this idyllic paradise with its shallow pools provides peace of mind to the less-experienced snorkeller, as well as breathtaking structures to thrill the more eager marine enthusiasts.

Great Outdoors: The coastal forest is home to beautiful bird life and will delight any nature lover. The Maputo Elephant Reserve is one hour away from the lodge and it is home to elephant, red and grey duiker, waterbuck, reedbuck, crocodiles and hippos.
