As the name suggests, Savute Elephant Camp is known for the herds of elephants that can be spotted roaming its plains in the heart of the Chobe National Park. The camp has its own traditional boma, where guests can relax in the evening and swap safari experiences while marvelling over the stars in the vast African night sky.

Enjoy a relaxed meal overlooking the stunning Savute channel in our raised restaurant. Gazing over the channel, which is home to one of Africa’s largest elephant population, you will be treated to delicious cuisine created by our skilled in-house chefs.

Our skilled chefs are always on-hand to prepare light meals or snacks for the game drives through the Chobe National park. Of course, we also have a fully stocked bar that is available for your convenience.

Throughout the day you will be able to relax in the quiet atmosphere of the lounge, sampling exotic treats or simply sitting back with a cup of tea taking in the remote landscape.

The luxury accommodation in Savute Elephant Camp offers an oasis amid the beautiful plain. The 12 twin-bed luxury canvas tents are perfectly suited to the desert air and are housed on raised wooden platforms, offering great views and shaded by a traditional African thatch roof. The large private decks are furnished with easy chairs and hammocks, ideal for viewing wildlife or for enjoying a private dinner in complete privacy. The tent interiors are luxuriously appointed with comforts such as en-suite bathrooms, private fully stocked mini bars, four-poster beds complete with mosquito netting, as well as discreet air-conditioning. For your convenience, in-room safes are provided for the safekeeping of all cash, travel documents and other articles.

Savute Elephant Camp offers guests a range of facilities including a spectacular observation deck area just 10 meters from the adjacent water hole, a 20 m elevated swimming pool area overlooking the riverbed, a private outdoor dining area, a private outdoor leisure area with Internet access and satellite TV located discreetly away from the main lounge and dining areas.

There are satellite phones on request, high powered telescopes for stargazing, a laundry service, curio shops with essential toiletries, safari wear, local art and craft objects, a reference library of books and videos, audio-visual facilities and VHF radio communications plus 24-hour emergency facilities.
