Description

Sonkwassie is a beautiful fisherman's cottage situated on the West Coast, just 145 km north of Cape Town.

The house has two en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan living/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The unit has excellent sea views, comfortable interiors with wooden floors, an inside fireplace for those colder nights, and an outdoor roof terrace/private patio with a braai area.

Paternoster is an all-year-round destination, famous for its strong traditional fisherman’s architecture, endless pristine sandy beaches, whales and dolphins frolicking in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and breathtaking sunsets. When the first spring rains fall , millions of indigenous flowers open, carpeting the earth in bright bursts of colour. The area is home to more than 250 species of birds, with seabirds like the Oystercatcher.

We really enjoyed our stay , but did not realise that crime was such a big thing in such a picturesque little town. I'd advise that the iron fist method be utilised as a matter of urgency or guests will disappear to spots where crime is not an issue.
