Forest Edge - Nature-lovers Retreat

Description

Experience TRANQUILITY, ROMANCE & PRIVACY in NATURE at AWARD-WINNING self-catering cottages. Nature-lovers' retreat: birds, game, secluded rock pools, forest walks & biking trails. Sundowners with fireflies and cozy log-fires. Discover the Magic of the Forest.

Situated off the beaten track, quietly nestling in the expansive Millwood Indigenous Knysna Forest, Forest Edge offers a haven for nature-loving families, stressed-out city-dwellers, adventurers & honeymooners. Each fully equipped 2-bedroomed gold-mining style cottage houses up to 5 persons. All cottages with GAS stoves for comfort during outages. Forest Edge, with its little extras and personal touches, offers a memorable and affordable break-away experience to remember.

Enjoy an emerald day on Forest walks, picnics or biking trails, lazing in a hammock or at the beach, or on an adventure activity or trip to Knysna town (20 leisurely minutes away). After a refreshing hot-water outdoor shower or relaxing indoor bath, mellow out on the veranda with sundowners. Watch a bushbuck or baboon family drink at the dam. Light a braai (barbecue) under the stars to the chorus of frogs; flitting fireflies and evocative night jars add to the enchantment. In winter, enjoy a book or movie in front of a cozy log-fire.

Country Life Magazine's article on Forest Edge (re Drupkelders forest walk to exquisite rock pools) states: "Lilies cling to the rock face, hanging down in bunches: what a pure Midsummer Nights' Dream experience".

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10-day stay. Everything is immaculate. Our cottage was serviced daily, to a very high standard. It was great for our toddler daughter, who spend the majority of her time on the stoep. It's very private but also very comfortably homely. The staff are incredibly personable and try really hard to assist your every need. It definitely is in nature but close enough to be able to explore around the area, from Sedgefield to Plettenberg Bay. We'll be back.
An enchanting stay

We went to Forest Edge to rejuvenate and that we certainly did. The location, the donkeys, the peacefulness - it was all fantastic. What a wonderful experience.

The facilities were great and the communication skills and reply time of the hostess excellent. The facility was well equipped and homely and had most one would need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Although the hostess was always there she was very discreet and helpful. The facilities are well kept and well maintained. A peaceful setting with tranquillity.
