About Glenrock Game & Trout

The farm Glenrock is mainly run as a beef enterprise. The farm is situated in the hills above Rietvlei, between Mooi River and Glenrock.

There are seven fully equipped, self-catering units that are serviced every morning. The farm is well known for its peaceful environment and is ideal for family getaways. Catch bass or trout in one of our dams, take a leisurely walk or bring your mountain bike along.

There are lots of game and birds on the farm to view by car, bicycle or on foot. We have eland, blesbuck, mountain reedbuck, duiker, oribi, zebra, serval cats and otters. Bird species include the secretary bird, wattled-, crested- and blue cranes, various raptors, Stanley's bastard, storks in summer, quinea fowl, francolins and various kinds of ducks. There are a few tame animals on the farm that you can feed.

The lapa is used as a dining room as well as conference centre and can seat up to 100 people. It is ideal for small functions like weddings, birthday parties and family reunions.

Family friendly: We have an animal farm, a jungle gym, as well as a zip line ( This must be booked in advance)

Well, sadly, the interior of the cabins was a real let down. Very old furniture, torn upholstery and hard, basic pine beds. The cabins look so lovely on the website, so you expect better. Needs a face lift, but then, for the price you pay, you can't get too fussy. We loved how the sheep...once let out...came to our cabin to eat grass and also try to eat our shoes. We stroked the little ones. So glad the cockrel and peacock did not keep us awake at night! Just a heads up...when you get to the gate, don't sit there waiting for it to miraculously open. Get out and open the damm thing manually!

We booked this as a halfway stay between Palm Beach and Johannesburg. We have a 1 year old and didn’t want to drive the whole way with her. On arrival at 13:30 we were told the room isn’t ready and the check in actually is only at 14:00, even though I had the papers showing check in at one. This is simply put just a farm with cabins. The room was clean but the furniture old and no phone signal at all. We went for a walk to feed the animals with my daughter. The sheep was wondering around outside and one rammed me with its head my husband had to chase it away. We had to ask the sheep be closed...

What we loved is that they gave us extra time to book in, we were at Ushaka that day and they made our day more comfortable due to the fact that we can book in later. Interaction with the farm animals is amazing and sooo cute.Everybody is so friendly and caring. Will definitely visit them again, but this time for a longer stay...
