About Bull Temple
Built in the 16th century, the Dravidian-style Bull Temple, also called Dodda Basavana Gudi, is a Hindu temple dedicated to Nandi, the attendant of Shiva. It houses a 4.5m tall icon of Nandi that is sculpted from a single granite slab. Local farmers offer their first crop of groundnuts to the deity during the annual festival of Kadalekayi Parishe.
