About Maremoto
At Maremoto diners can enjoy traditional South African and Cape dishes with Mediterranean and Asian influences.
The restaurant pays tribute to the age of mailship travel and represents the Nobel-prize winning poet, Pablo Neruda, who served as a consular official in various port cities. His collection of poems, Maremoto, was published in 1968.
Maremoto serves excellent cuisine in upmarket surroundings and the menu is extensive and well thought out. Starters include dishes like Plum Tomato Soup, the Panzanella Salad which is cubed Italian bread tossed with red onion, plum tomatoes, olive oil and fresh basil, an the Dragon Wings, perfectly oven roasted red hot chilli chicken wings served with a coriander yogurt.
Mains offers traditional fare like lamb curry, cottage pie and beef fillet, but more exciting options can be enjoyed like the pork and pear casserole - pork fillet sautéed with pears in a creamy frangelico sauce
served on a bed of mash.
Maremoto offers a fine dining experience to remember.
