69 Strand offers you a sensational break away, overlooking the tranquil Indian Ocean. Our three fully-equipped self-catering units are located in the Brighton Beach suburb of the Bluff, which is a mere 15 minutes outside of the vibrant city centre of Durban. The 180 degree view captures the Ocean from the sand to the sky, dramatic sunrises & an oceanic experience will leave you relaxed and revitalized. Spotting whales and dolphins from our private hill side deck overlooking the ocean is hardly a rare occasion, an often daily occurrence. The end autumn and winter months see the most sightings of these majestic mammals.

Better known as the friendly suburb, Brighton Beach is renowned for its world famous surf spot “Cave Rock”, unspoilt beaches and tidal pool. There are many rock pools to explore as well as excellent surfing, diving and fishing spots.

Dolphins frolic all year-round close to shore and whales are often spotted during the winter months. The thick coastal vegetation is home to many wild creatures, namely the grey duiker, monkeys and mongoose. The Bluff Nature Reserve has two bird hides that provide excellent bird-watching opportunities in addition to nature trails.

With protected open spaces and no high rise buildings to spoil the exquisite coast line, Brighton Beach still maintains an environmental awareness that has prevented this area from becoming another concrete holiday town. Situated on the outskirts of Durban, it is a mere 20 minute drive to Durban city centre, the International Convention Centre, the WC 2010 Moses Mabhida sports stadiums, Wilson’s Wharf, Botanical Gardens, uShaka Marine World and Durban’s main beaches. It is also only a stone throw away from the city’s premier restaurant mecca, Florida Road. The Durban July, a National horse racing event is held at Greyville Racecourse annually, usually the first Saturday in July.

Perfectly positioned for the discerning business traveller, 69 Strand is also convenient for corporate clients, as it is close to the city’s southern industrial hub of Prospection, Jacobs, Mobeni, as well as the harbour.

Some of the other attractions are the Millennium Tower, a tour of the old whaling station, a game of golf on the 18-hole golf course or shopping at one of the many chain stores. There are also a variety of restaurants and take-aways in the area ranging from seafood restaurants to steak houses, Chinese and Indian take-out, pizza parlours etc.

The house was spacious, clean and well equipped with amazing view of the sea. It was great to have the laundry service and for the house to be cleaned every day.

The pictures do not do justice to this place. It's a home away from home. Was very comfortable. Lynn and her staff are very nice. Will definitely come back. The beach is not overpopulated and it's very clean.
