The lodge prides itself on providing quality, clean student travel, backpacking and youth hostel accommodation to independent travellers and international backpackers alike. Accommodation comprises large rooms which are not overcrowded, providing the perfect Gansbaai youth hostel accommodation and base for your holiday. The luxury Family Bedroom has a full en-suite bathroom, an extra-large double bed and a twin bunk bed, while the three dormitory rooms sleep only four guests each. All rooms are fitted with large cupboards and are fully serviced.
Gansbaai forms part of the Whale Coast with the Walker Bay Whale Sanctuary providing a nursery to southern right, bryde and humpback whales which are easily observed from the shore or on a boat-based whale watching tour. Dyer Island is a breeding colony for African penguins and Cape fur seals. The narrow channel between Geyser Rock and Dyer Island is home to around 60,000 seals and is a feeding ground of the endangered great white shark.
