Important Information

BOOKING:
 Upon your enquiry for accommodation a quote can be drawn from the website/ a quote confirmation can be requested.
 Quotations are valid as stipulated on the quotation.
 All rates are including VAT and can be changed without prior notice.
 A 30% deposit is to reserve the establishment, and full payment is required 1 week in advance and during high season 2 weeks in advance of arrival.
 Reservations within 7 days of arrival is payable in full.
 Full payment is required before access can be given to the establishment.
 Banking costs for international deposits will be for the guest’s account. Because we will only know what the amount is after receiving the funds, it will be
added to the outstanding amount / the final payment.
 Only paying guests are allowed on the premises – visiting guest welcome only by arrangement.
 Seehuis is not available for functions/weddings.
 Unfortunately, additional charges will be imposed if more guests than booked for are utilizing the premises.
 The right of admission is reserved and strictly applied.
 The person responsible for making the reservations and payments should ensure that everyone else in the party has read these terms and conditions and
accept full responsibility and liability thereof.
CHECK IN & DEPARTURES
 You are welcome to check in from 15:00 to 18:00
 Estimated times of arrival and departure must be communicated to the welcoming staff member or owner to ensure smooth check-ins/outs.
 Check in after 18:00 must be arrange in advance.
 No check in after 20:00.
 Departure time is 10:00. Late departures must be arranged in advance.
 It is the guest’s responsibility to report any defect or problem to the agent at the time of taking occupancy,
On Departure:
o We will make sure that the property is in a highly acceptable condition upon arrival. The home must be left as you found it:
o The house must be tidy and furniture in place.
o White deck furniture with cushions must be moved to underneath the balcony area on the deck
o Any left-over food/ consumables must be left in the fridge and not on the cupboards, in microwave or in oven.
o Dust bin bags can be place in the trolley bin in the court yard.
o Ensure all warm blankets are turned off, heated towel rails are turned off, lights are turned off
o Doors locked and windows closed.
o Alarm is activated and keys placed in the drop box at the front door.
 Tenant is given 2x garage remotes, 1x alarm remote, 1x front door keys. All needs to be return on departure
 Two garage spaces are available for vehicles.
CANCELLATION POLICIES:
 We reserve the right to cancel and refund accommodation in situations of crisis or move guests to alternative (similar) accommodation with their permission
and agreement.
 Cancellation longer than 30 days, 100% refundable.
 Cancellation between 29 days and 15 days, 75% refundable.
 Cancellation between 14 and 7 days, 50% refundable.
(High season - no refunds after 14 days’ notice of cancelation)
 Cancellation less than 7 days, no refund.
 If the tenant leave/vacate the property before the check-out date of the rental period, the contract will remain binding for the full period and all monies will remain
payable. There will be no refund of any rental amounts.

DEPOSIT:
 A breakage deposit of R5000 will be charged.
The deposit serves to compensate for any accidents, breakages or damages caused by the tenants and/or guests. The following rules apply to the damages/
breakage deposit.
a) The home will be inspected upon final cleaning, any breakages, and damages, (with includes chipped crockery, and stains on upholstery/carpets)
will be charges for. In the cast of severe damages to items, the replacement value of the item will be charged.
b) If the Home is left in good order a no loss, breakages/ damages has been reported, the deposit will be refunded within 72 hours of departure.
c) In the case where quotations needs to be obtained for repair/ replacement of items, refund will only finalised once all has been repaired or replaced.
d) Should breakages/ damages exceed the R5000 the balance will be for the tenants account and will be payable via bank transfer. Invoices for the
excess costs will be provided and is payable immediately.
e) Lost or damages what accrued during the tenants stay, must be reported either to Seehuis owner or to the person responsible for the tenants
check in.
 Please note that tampering with DB boards, the switches there on, the battery system, or any other electronic or electrical equipment responsible for the
smooth running of Seehuis will not be tolerated.
CLEANING AND CLEANING FEE:
 This is a self-catering facility. Only start-up amenities and cleaning materials are provided.
 A cleaning fee of R500 is charge for general cleaning after departure, any excessive cleaning and e.g. spillages on upholstery, carpets will be at an addition
cost.
 Beds which are slept in, above the occupancy as stated by you, will be subject to a cleaning charge.
 Bath/shower towels are supplied and for this purpose only.
 Beach/pool towels are also supplied for use at pool and beach.
 Towels, bath and pool will only be washed after departure and not during the stay.
 Laundry facilities are available in Yzerfontein – please check out our website / LOCAL CONTACTS for 2 options.
 Refuse collections are every Thursday morning.
 Please make use of the recycle bins around town near the Municipal Hall and in Dassen Island, Pearl Bay
 The drains in Yzerfontein are either soak or municipal pump drains. Therefore, please use only toilet paper in the toilets. Bins are provided for any other items
that need to be disposed of.
 A daily cleaning service is available at an additional cost, kindly request a quotation.
POOL:
 Children are not allowed at the pool, and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
 This is a splash pool with no railings, thus no running around the pool, jumping/diving into the pool.
 Tiles and Deck are slippery when wet!
 Take great care with glass containers around the pool, broken glass can cause serious injuries.
 Irresponsible breakages regarding glass/es will be charged for.
 Only use towels allocated for pool use at the pool. Located in the hallway cupboard upstairs.
 Please make use of the shower underneath the deck to wash off excess sand before entering the house/pool.
 The Pool can be heated on request and at additional cost - please request quote.
SMOKING AND FIRE:
 Seehuis has a no smoking policy.
 No Smoking in the house or close to the house. Smoking is only allowed on the perimeter of the deck.
 Ensure that cigarettes buds are put out thoroughly and disposed of in a dustbin and under no circumstances in the fynbos/garden.
 Fires are only allowed in fire place and braai. Fires must not supervised at all times. The fire grid at the fire place must be used at all times.
 Candles are only allowed if used in the provided containers. Damage due to wax/burn of candles will be charged for.
 The tenant, his/her guest, his/her fellow tenants, is responsible for every fire that is ignited at Seehuis and is liable should any damage whatsoever be caused to
the property by fire or by extinguishing the fire.
 Wood for fires are not provided. Wood can by supplied at an additional cost, kindly request a quotation.
 A Gas heater is located in the garage for additional heating during winter months. Please make sure gas is shut off properly in the evening as well as on departure.
Refills for gas can be purchased from all the hardware stores in town or the filling station.
SURROUNDINGS AND ENVIROMENT
 This house is in a residential area, please respect our neighbours and refrain from events or parties without prior permission.
 Keep noise levels low at all times. No loud music, shouting or parties are allowed. Should complaints arise due to this, a R2000 penalty will be charged.
 The Yzerfontein residential area is surrounded by nature reserves and Green Belts are running through the town. We ask that guests always respect the
environment.
 The dune in front of the house is being rehabilitated and monitored by Bewarea. Walking/sitting on the dune is STRICKLY PROHIBETED. Spot fines will be
issued for trespassing. Kindly stay in the pathways when going down to the beach.
 Apart from a variety of small wild animals there are also snakes such as Puff adders and Cape Cobras during the warmer seasons and it is therefore advisable
not to wander into the fynbos unattended.
 At certain times of the year, such as the breeding season, ostriches could be dangerous too, rather do not approach them at any time and give them right of
way – they were here first!
 Because the West Coast is an arid environment, the local communities experience water restrictions from time to time. Please help us by using water
responsibly.
 We should mention that even though Yzerfontein is statistically a very low crime area, caution should still be taken and the premises be locked when you are
away - please contact the 24 hours neighbourhood watch number for assistance is available: 083 444 0672.
 A medical practitioner is available in town but unfortunately not 24 hours per day. Please check our website / LOCAL CONTACTS for telephone numbers.
 The house is fitted with an alarm system, kindly always activate when you leave the premises.
 Minors are the sole responsibility of the parents and/or guardians in whose care they are whilst visiting.
PETS: NO pets allowed.
