About Somerset Stables

About Somerset Stables

Reinette Te Water Naude, wife of the late Dr Theo Te Water Naude, bought this old stable-like building, circa 1856, in 1997 and restored it to its present form. More buildings were added on to the main dwelling in a U-shape, with a veranda and shutters. A beautiful garden was laid out and is filled with trees, roses, plumbago, lavender, bougainvillea, evening primrose, hibiscus, flowers and herbs. Birds, bees, butterflies and chameleons frequently visit the garden. Enjoy the smell of jasmine while sitting on the veranda.Somerset Stables is perfectly located in the most popular

Lovely clean and large rooms. Excellent service by the owner - even made reservations on our behalf at a top restaurant without us requesting. Had a lovely time and will definitely return.
